Platinum as an industrial product, has a profound use in view of its inherent and special chemical as well as physical properties like " high corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity and catalytic nature". Being a very expensive metal to be used in its solid form, it is applied by electro-deposition on titanium or niobium. Thus making it economical and at the same time retaining the advantages offered by platinum.

 

Availability:

Pt. plated Titanium anode 1250 mm x 1000 Pt.
Plated Niobium anode 600 mm x 400.
Plating thick minimum 1.5 µ & max 20 µ .
Anodes are available in the form of Sheet, mesh, pipe, wire, rod & custom built.

 

Advantages:

Light weight. Good current resistance. Long operating life: maintenance free. Economical, due to low platinum requirements. High dimensional stability and load resistance. Highly suitable as auxiliary anodes of complex geometrical shapes.

Recommendation:

Both plated & Non-plated hanging hook, frame / band.
Platinum plated Ti. anode for electrolytes without fluoride.
Platinum plated Nb. anode for electrolytes having fluoride.
Niobium substrate anode is to be used, where better conduction is needed than titanium.
Pt. plated Nb. is anode for sulphuric acid chromium plating bath operated at current density greater than 75 amps / dm².
